National Night Out

National Night Out 2021 Header

National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. The state of Texas and select areas celebrate the first Tuesday in October.

Tips for hosting a successful National Night Out event in your neighborhood

  1. Register your event through the National Night Out Website
  2. Register your event with the City of Mont Belvieu
  3. Invite ALL your neighbors by advertising your event in neighborhood groups on Facebook, and other communication means for your community.
  4. Shop for National Night Out products
  5. Encourage a "pot-luck" dinner for participating neighbors (hot dogs and hamburgers are usually a big hit!)
  6. Have games and entertainment available for the kids in the neighborhood.
  7. Encourage attendees to walk or ride their bikes to the event to keep the streets open and prevent any safety concerns.
  8. Take a LOT of pictures and email them to aalvarado@montbelvieu.net after your event
