Office of Emergency Management

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) / Homeland Security is charged with developing and maintaining the City of Mont Belvieu's emergency response plan. OEM also conducts training for both City employees and the general public in dealing with all types of emergencies. OEM maintains the City's Emergency Operations Center and the Mobile Operations Center. We strive to prepare ourselves and our community to meet the threat of all disaster types whether they be natural or manmade.

OEM-Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is the coordinating agency that brings all of the City's Public Safety resources together in a unified approach during the four phases of emergency management:

  • Mitigation
  • Preparedness
  • Response
  • Recovery
