The City of Mont Belvieu will hold a general election on May 6, 2023. This will be a joint election with Barbers Hill ISD.

The following positions will be up for election:

2023 Important Dates

Qualifications for Filing for office:

  1. Be a qualified voter in the City and State.
  2. Be a resident of the City.
  3. Have resided continuously within the corporate limits of the City for 12 months immediately preceding the date of the election.
  4. Be 21 years of age or older on the first day of the term to be filled at the election.
  5. Satisfy any other eligibility requirements prescribed by law for the office for which they are a candidate.

Ballot Filing

  • January 18 - First day to file for a place on the ballot
  • February 17 - Last day to file for a place on the ballot

Early Voting Dates

  • April 24 - May 2 from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (There will be two 12 hour voting days on April 25 and May 2, 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.)

Extended 12 Hour Voting

  • April 25 from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
  • May 2 from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm

Election Day

  • May 6 - Polling place will be open from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
